A Bell Reducer Coupler also referred to as a Threaded Reducing Coupler, is a special coupling that features female NPT threads of different sizes on either end. They are used to extend a run of pipe by joining two sections with different diameters.
There are many types of threaded fittings connecting, like NPT, NPS, BSPF, ACME, etc.
NPT: American National Standard Taper Pipe Thread;
NPS: American National Standard Straight Pipe Thread;
BSPF: British Standard Pipe Fitting;
ACME: Acme thread has a flat apex and valley, and a wider tooth shape than an NPT thread.
NPT is areliable choice. The surface of the thread is cone-shaped, and the diameter of the top of the thread is smaller than the diameter of the bottom. This design makes the thread connection with good sealing performance, suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature environments.
