A blind Flange is a solid steel plate without holes. It is used to terminate the end of a piping system. It may be used for isolating a pipe, valve, or pressure vessel. Because it is bolted, the blind flange provides easy access to the interior of a vessel or pipe. A blind flange can replace a butt weld cap in case an extension of the piping line is required, or in case a piping inspection is required.

Many blind flanges have a basic structure that, unlike other flanges, requires little machining and is heavy because it has no holes. This type of flange is solid with no bore and can have a flat face(FF) or raised face(RF).

Blind flanges are commonly used in petrochemicals, pipe engineering, public services, and water works.
